It has been some time since the vision for a model supportive living center in Clarenville was shared. This vision remains the driving force behind A Longer Table Inc. The goal is clear: to create a full-circle living facility that promotes independence, inclusion, and strong community connections. While the physical facility is still in the planning stages and requires significant funding, the work to make a difference has already begun.
Taking Action Today with Accessible Programming
Waiting for funding to build the facility is not necessary. We can begin to make a change now! The team at A Longer Table Inc. is committed to the start of making an impact and building a community by offering accessible programming and support. One exciting new initiative is the launch of the LED Support Group.
What is the LED Support Group?
LED stands for Life and Employment Development. This support network is designed specifically for neurodivergent youth and young adults. The program is a collaboration between The Loft, Avalon Employment, Lindsay Greene, and A Longer Table. It aims to help participants build essential life skills, prepare for employment, learn self-advocacy, and connect with peers who share similar experiences.
The program will include a mix of virtual support groups and in-person workshops. Before finalizing the schedule and content, the organizers want to hear from the community. Input from potential participants will shape the program to ensure it meets their needs.
You can share your thoughts by completing the Call for Interest survey here:
Please share this opportunity with anyone who might benefit from or be interested in the program.
Building a Strong Support Network Together
Creating a comprehensive support network requires the involvement of many people. A Longer Table Inc. operates as a non-profit focused on impact rather than profit. To bring the vision to life, the organization is actively seeking sponsors and donors who want to contribute to this meaningful cause.
How Donations Make a Difference
How Your Donations Help
Donations will help to support programming, development, events, support, and more.
Each dollar contributed is reinvested directly into the community. This strategy ensures fair compensation, imparts valuable skills, boosts confidence, and provides real-world experience, which can lead to future opportunities.
Supporting this mission means investing in people and their potential. It means helping build a community where everyone has the chance to thrive.
What Participants Can Expect from LED
The LED Support Group is designed to be a safe and welcoming space. Participants can expect:

How to Get Involved
If you are a neurodivergent youth or young adult interested in joining the LED Support Group, the first step is to complete the survey linked above. Your feedback will help shape the program to better serve you and your peers.
For community members, families, and supporters, there are several ways to get involved:

Sponsor or Donate
Provide financial support to help sustain and grow the program.
Together, these efforts will build a stronger, more inclusive community.
Looking Ahead
While the physical supportive living center remains a future goal, the work happening now lays a strong foundation. The LED Support Group is a step toward creating a community where independence and inclusion are not just ideas but lived experiences.
By supporting this initiative, you help create opportunities for neurodivergent youth and young adults to develop skills, gain confidence, and connect with others. This work is about building a community that listens, learns, and grows together.
